Macy’s CBL Cool Springs Galleria – Discrimination?
Macy’s has continued to REFUSE to answer our question – one fundamental question – why was I not waited on that day and why was I pointed to an empty register repeatedly. I have asked if this was because I wore a hoodie or was not white. No answer. Refusal to answer, just apologize. Mr. William Skaggs has refused to keep his word to return my calls. He is hiding under a desk, proverbially as Bill O’Reilly would put it. They have carefully worded their answer – so are we to conclude that Macys in Cool Springs discriminates against certain races? They have not answered us. They could simply say what happened that day. But they have refused.
Dear Mr. Hall: I am writing in response to the recent e-mail you sent to me regarding your shopping experience. As a liaison in Macy’s Executive Office, your inquiry was once again forwarded to me for review and response. Our previous responses to you outlined Macy’s goal for outstanding customer service. We are disappointed that you believe the service you experienced was motivated by your appearance and that the Store Manager, Mr. William Skaggs, has ignored your issue. Please be assured that we are a company committed to having a diverse customer base and do not condone or tolerate discrimination of any kind. As I stated before, you will not receive a response from Mr. Skaggs regarding this matter, as all communication will be from our office. I apologize for any misunderstanding. Mr. Hall, we realize that you have a choice of where to shop and we are sorry if this issue has jeopardized our business relationship. Unless you provide us with new information, we will not continue to respond to this same inquiry. If I may be of assistance in another matter, do not hesitate to call me at the telephone number listed below.
