‎2 Timothy 2:2 reads “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.” – It’s time for this generation to step up and teach the next generation. It’s teaching where you are at, it’s mentoring where you are at.  For Ron Hall at Camp Greenwood, it means drawing it to a close.

It’s been 4 good years and I think we’re finishing with our best foot forward, on a good note, and not overstaying our welcome. I think we’ve had a good run and I’d rather go out on this note than keep trying to paint a picture that’s already finished – and ruining it in the process.

I think we had a good run, I admit there were some clunkers in the mix but by God they were out clunkers, ideas that looked good on paper but when we executed them, they just weren’t what we had in mind – like the weekend we did that caused damage to the Pastor’s car. And then there were those perfect little gems, where we put a bow on them and look and say “this was the camp at it’s best” – like the time we all came together to help the Pastor with two foster children.

At the end of the day, I think we had some great moments, I like to believe lives were impacted, and at now it’s your turns to impact others – and continue the legacy. I couldn’t be prouder of all of you. And in the process maybe you’ll understand things like “The PLK” and quite possibly allow your own “PLK” to throw cookies at her brother…and one day, long down the road, maybe just maybe…you’ll open your home too.

Camp Greenwood closes in July 2012.
